Maybe I need to watch it again... I guess I'm just being spoiled by the highly intense, witty, and forever-edging Season Four of Angel, and my expectation for Season Five was kind of held too high by the buzz I heard...
Nevertheless I totally agree this is a great season... more
Business is hell By the end of the first episode of "Angel's" 5th season I was reeling in delight. If "Buffy" had a single starting premise, it was "high school is hell" - literally. And from that idea flowed riches galore. Well, most of us who have ever logged hours... more
Out With A Bang The 5th season of Angel was one of the best. Taking on the evil law firm of Wolfram & Hart was the perfect new challenge for the team of what once was Angel Investigations. They were out of their element but at the same time fit right in. Each got... more
FuNNY FUNNY FUNNY With Spike in the new mix of Angel and the gang working at WolfRanm & Hart the show is extreamly hilarious. I never really liked seasons 2-4 of Angel, they got too depressing, but i watched them for the humor. Now, most of this season is a lot like season... more
One of Angel's best seasons A number of reviewers have pegged this as the best season of Angel, and I half agree.
The first two seasons were great fun, but in those early years, Angel was truly a Buffy spinoff; it kept the spirit, style, and frequently even the characters... more
Angel Goes out with a Bang! This season had many twists and turns throughout, which made it really exciting. Amy Acker proves what an amazing actress she is, as she switches from the sweet, little innocent girl, to, well, lets just put it this way: Illyria. A thousand year old demon,... more
Legend This season was great. It took the show back to what it was in the early days, a touching metaphor for life, while keeping you entertaining you. It also helped that this season has so many funny episodes.
From the onset, it was clear this... more
truly masterful work by Wheddon and the cast The final season of Angel goes out fighting (figuratively and literally!). The manner in which Wheddon blended a mix of totally different plots (i.e. Mexican wrestling, muppets, a U-boat story, just to name a few) and still managed to keep the story flowing... more
Final, but less than stellar, season of Angel This is not the best season of Angel. The introduction of Spike, an obvious ploy to attract Buffy fans, actually disrupted the chemistry that existed between the regular Angel cast. Angel no longer seemed like the hero of the series, with his valiant... more
Going out with a bang instead of a whimper... The cruel irony of the fifth season of Angel is that not only was it the best season, it was also the last. After Buffy the Vampire Slayer went off the air, several of its writers started working on episodes for Angel. The difference was apparent right... more
A great ending for the best show Despite the losing of about almost every main character in it's final season (but what do u expect working for W&H), I would have to say that the final season of Angel was one of the best. I loved the chemistry between Spike and Angel, even though I hated... more
Angel and Illyria Kick A$$ To be honest, I kind of want to try my luck with Illyria and Angel as a team. All my favorite parts are of Illyria, on Disk 5, in the last 3 episodes. Amy Acker finally comes out again as a fighter in Illyria. She is a fighter with a flare for dramatic... more
Saved the Best for Last Angel went out with a bang, albeit too soon, and Season 5 was the series best. Although one key character was gone, the remarkable Charisma Carpenter, this season gave us some of the most exciting hours of television in the past few years. Part of this... more
The road to redemption . . . Definitely not the best season. Spike brings some consolation with his presence and needed truthful comments, but the season doesn't have the high quality emotion and depth of the previous seasons. Fred's skirts are shorter for shamelessly obvious reasons... more
Leave it to the networks to ruin an awesome show From another reviewer: "After very nearly getting cancelled at the end of Season Four, the WB renewed ANGEL with the understanding that the show would try to move more towards a format where each episode stood alone".
If true, that would... more
When An Angel Falls Personally I have very mixed feelings about Angel: Season Five. While most reviewers here on Amazzon.com really seem to have enjoyed it, I'm quite disappointed with the ending of the series. Oh, believe me, the season does have its good moments. I think... more
Angel season 5 is Angel's best season! Angel season 5 is Angel's best season! This season was better then the pervious seasons because the show was upgraded on it's Fifith and last season! Angel (David Boreanaz) and his team take over the Los Angeles/Law Offices of Wolfram & Hart, the evil... more
Great series.. Angel is one of the few shows that I miss watching. The last season blew me away and the last episode left me speechless.
The WB had/has very little to offer anyone with a brain and taste before it cancelled Angel, now it has nothing.... more
I'm glad I wasn't talked out of buying this A person I know told me that Angel Season 5 wasn't worth watching. I took a chance and all week I have been giving thanks that I didn't listen to him. I think this is the best season of the series. Fred and Wesley's dieing sceens in both "A Hole in the... more
fantastic conclusion, bittersweet and memoriable First of all, I just want to say that this season has probably THE BEST COVER design for Angel. The past years' DVD cover of Angel all made Angel look soooo ugly and not like him, especially season four's, Angel look so ugly on the cover. But season five's... more
