The road to redemption . . . Definitely not the best season. Spike brings some consolation with his presence and needed truthful comments, but the season doesn't have the high quality emotion and depth of the previous seasons. Fred's skirts are shorter for shamelessly obvious reasons and the stand alone episodes are less than engaging. There are highly unnecessary characters - Harmony and Nina. The return of Lindsey was interesting, but in the end he gets cheated. Julie Benz and Vincent Kartheiser return for the only few episodes worth watching; Darla and Connor make everything good. Wesley's fate seems too easy - the show has succeeded in killing every original member of Angel Investigations along with every complex and intelligent female character strong enough to hold her own. The five stars are forever for Darla and Connor - they are truly great!!
