I miss the mythological references This is not a full review. I totally agree with the other positive reviews posted here. This is science fiction at its best. George Lucas and Rick Berman (and gang) could have done the same and reinvented their sagas to keep them alive. I am writing to add that I miss the profusion of mythological references that existed in the original series. Since the Galactica convoy is supposed to arrive on Earth B.C. and be the origin of Earth mythology, there was a *point* in the silly looking uniforms and helmets of the original series. They are supposed to look like what Greek and Egyptian gods would wear. Only a few references such as the Zodiac names of the colonies were left but most was cut out from the current series. I am sure that a creative group of designers could come up with an elegant solution that wouldn't look as campy as the original series but still maintain this element...
