Carmen Electra's Aerobic Striptease
Electric, Goddess Style or Slutty?
I have to admit to not knowing very much about Carmen Electra until I saw her promoting her workout. She is obviously a woman who gets men's hearts racing and has gone beyond "letting her goddess out to play" and may be entering territory many of us have yet to enter.
In the first place, you have to be willing to be a little more than playful to do this workout. It has its moments of slightly slutty (slapping yourself or other interesting things that women who dance professionally would do for men) vs. goddess dance (a more sensual style), but the moves do work and you will feel your entire body becoming more toned and tightened. You have to ask yourself if you want to slap yourself, put your finger in your mouth or just skip those moves. I found them to be playful and if you are practicing to dance for your lover, then I think you will find some of the advice more than useful.
Dance will help you more than regular exercise because it gets to muscles many exercises just can't touch. This is why I like bellydance and this workout does have a few good bellydance moves to tone those difficult stomach areas that won't respond to other forms of exercise. It is really a combination of yoga, pilates and bellydance with an erotic twist.
Carmen Electra seems to talk too much at first during the dancer's warm-up section, but then I realized she needs to because she doesn't talk at all during the next exercise routine that follows. She alternates between a teaching style and a "let's just do this routine" style. At times she is giggly and mostly she tries to make it easy for you to feel sexy. She is very casual, playful and is actually a good dance instructor. She teaches you the moves slowly enough that you learn them fast and can then incorporate them into a routine. At times she teaches you a few moves and then proceeds to put the moves to music. Then you learn more moves and take it from the top. So, you build on your knowledge and then put it into practice.
I thought the "head rolls" and "neck" exercises should be attempted with an added dose of caution or you will end up with a very sore neck. Tossing your head around might be a little to extreme when you first start dancing.
At first I thought this was pretty much a male fantasy coming to life and that she had made this workout for men. After I completed the entire DVD I felt more sexy, energetic, toned, flexible and adventurous. My coordination improved and my confidence went up a few levels. This could enhance your sex life and it is actually a very good workout, although it will appeal to your naughty side. There is no real stripping in this workout, but the moves do resemble a unique form of erotic dance.
