Our look at Chicago

It's the long-awaited film version of the well known Broadway hit. Set in the 20's, this is the story of Chicago chorus girl Roxie Hart played by Renee Zellweger, who shoots her cheating lover. Afterwards, she goes to prison, and there she meets Velma, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones, another chorus girl and murderess. The two go through a series of attempts at getting what they both want and that is fame and success in the rough community of that age. What can I say... I am not the fan of these movies neither I am a huge fan of Broadway either. What IS great (and I mean really great) about this movie is the soundtrack which even I liked. That's what gets all my recommendations. As for everything else, well I would leave it to the ones who are more in love of this type of movies. I personally am not. On the other hand I think that not everything is possible to adapt to big screen and that's what I heard from more experienced and professional people than I am. One thing is true and that's the fact that Only time will tell where Chicago will rank in the annals of splashy screen musicals.
