Closer (2004)

Very disappointed.

I watched this film at my hotel while staying with a friend. And if you ask me the $11.95 we paid for this was not worth it. I like all of the actors and I think they are all talented. But the story is rediculous. It's a glamorization of people being irresponsible with other people's feelings, or simply downright hurtful. I'm not saying a movie can't be good if it is about this type of subject matter but it was poorly put together.
Near the end when we see Alice paying for her hotel room and taking Dan back to NYC with her, he simply asks one question, and all of the sudden she doesn't love him anymore. From that moment I was totally turned off. Alice's character is not believable, she's incredibly sharp witted for a 24 y/o woman yet she's basically homeless? Nothing was realistic. And in the end there is no redemption really, everyone is left to ponder their actions and lick their wounds ALONE....not CLOSER. Even the couple that winds up staying together in the end doesn't look happy.
