Wonderful blend of fact and fantasy
J. M. Barrie has just written a play which has flopped when he meets four charming boys and their mother in a park. He begins spending a lot of time with the fatherless boys, creating a magical place called Neverland, where their imaginations soar. Despite the objections of his wife, Barrie spends much of his time with the Davies family, and soon begins to write a play based on the boys. "Peter Pan" is unlike anything that has been produced on the stage at the time, and it instantly catches the imaginations of the audience. Sadly, Barrie's soaring career is paralleled by the declining health of Sylvia Davies and the distress of her boys. This lovely film blends the facts of Barrie's life with the wonderful whimsy which comes from his imagination. Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet are outstanding in their roles and they are surrounded by a terrific supporting cast. This film is highly recommeded!
