The Best Film About Jesus! Jesus of Nazareth is my favorite film about Jesus, it was originally a Television mini series that I think first aired on television in 1977. I first saw Jesus of Nazareth when it was rerun on TV in the lates 80s and then a few years later when I was shopping in a store with my Mom and Dad I found the video on a shelf and I bought it but since I now that have a DVD player I bought this two disc DVD set and I highly recommend it and it is so much more convenient to not have to rewind or fast forward the video and to just be able to put in a DVD and watch it! This is a wonderful inspirational film and the cast is outstanding and Robert Powell is superb as Jesus and the rest of the cast is outstanding too, including Michael York as John the Baptist and Olivia Hussey as Mary, mother of Jesus. Of the Jesus films that I have seen this is my favorite and I find the it very uplifting and moving and I very greatly recommend Jesus of Nazareth. I see that some reviewers are questioning why this didn't get a widescreen presentation on the DVDs but this was a made for television miniseries in 1977 and according to sources that I have read TV shows and made for television movies and miniseries were filmed in fullscreen then so I have to assume that fullscreen is the correct aspect ratio for Jesus of Nazareth!
