Actually make that a Turkey How did MASH stay on the air for 11 years? It was one of the most popular shows of all time. People loved how Hawkeye and Trapper John were misfits who used humor to keep from going crazy during war. So they made fun of their superior officers. The show was unfunny to begin with and was merely a vessel for Hollywood to get out it's anti-Vietnam War message out. And even when the war ended they just had to keep it going because the ratings were too good. But as good as the ratings got better, the show managed to get worse, if it's possible. It was lame in the 1970's and it's even worse now. I just have one thing to say to Alan Alda and the rest of Hollywood: Shut up and do something entertaining. That's what we pay you for.
