Ocean's Twelve (Widescreen Edition) (2004)
Not worth your time
Out of four stars I give it one and a half or maybe two. The acting was decent and I like the interaction between Brad Pitt and George Clooney. The problems with the film overshadow the film though. The plot is horrible, most of the returning cast is given nothing to do and the chemistry between Brad Pitt and Catherine Zeta-Jones is zilch. I was excited to see this film but the original was better as is with most films. The direction also seemed to be lacking as Steven Soderbergh favored lots of hand held shots. Personally I think that this type of film needs to have a certain look to it. It has to be sharp and stylish, it can't look like anyone could of filmed it. They also had these fuzze freeze frame type shots that were unecessay and detracted from the film. They created these type of breaks from the film and detracted because suddenyl you were reminded you were watching a film. The other problem was the backstory between Catherine and Brad. We had the beginning where we learn how they know each other and that was all that was needed. We did not need to see how they met, it simply made the movie longer and detracted away from the main plot, which sucked. If they wanted to make the film longer they should have given more screen time to Don Cheadle, Eliiot Gould, Carl Reiner, or any of the other cast members. I didn't like Catherine Zeta-Jones's character at all really. I thought the idea of her character was unecassary. They could of made a better film if they would've come up with a better script that gave Rusty Ryan a better backstory. The one they came up with was half assed. Anyway, if you have a low IQ or have no idea what seperates a good movie from a bad one you will think this movie was great and that it was one of the best films you've seen this year. If you liked the film and thought it gave you something to do for two hours you in my boat. I thought it was entertaining and it was better than staring at my computer. I'll probably end up buying it though simply because I love the interaction between Brad and George and the french dude is hot. It won't get much rotation though.
