All about the Extras!
Everyone knows how great this movie is, so I wont use this review to discuss the movie. Instead, I want to review this collector's edition of the DVD itself. First, the packaging and design are really cool. The 2 disc set is inside a clear digi pak that folds up and slides into a die cut slipcase, revealing only Uma's face. The digi pak itself is made of high quality UV coated heavy stock paper. Quentin added a little something extra inside the package that I thought was cool, it's a Jack Rabbit Slim's menu...nice touch! Now, the movie is on disc one, and disc two is devoted to extra bonus material. The 2 stand out features on disc 2 are an episode of the Charlie Rose show where Quentin was the guest for a full hour! This is the best and most insightful interview I've seen Quentin give (that's thanks to Charlie). He talks about all the little details that led him to become a film maker and what inspires his unique vision. Also, is a full program of At the Movies, that discusses Quentin's influence on today's film scene. Both these programs were one time airings, so if you missed them, this is the only way to see them.
The extras make this a flawless DVD release and truly worthy of the name "collector's edition".
