Finally, Season 4 out on DVD!! I've waited & waited, & now at long last the 4th entry in the DVD series of Queer As Folk is coming out! I absolutely cannot get enough. I always buy the sets as they are released & am proud & happy to own them. I hope the show goes on for at least a few more years. I've heard that the 5th season may be it's final one. I hope this isn't true. This show is topical, groundbreaking & engrossing. The characters bond well in the face of adversity & genuinely love & care about each other. It's really refreshing to see a creative & contemporary series address bigotry in our society & spit in the face of it & be bold enough to rebel against "convention", whatever that is! I applaud the creators & the cast for doing this show & making a difference in the lives of many by their portrayals in & contributions to the series. They deserve a great deal of credit as far as i'm concerned. And I know many feel just as I do. I absolutely love Emmett, he's a card & someone i'd be only too proud to have as a best friend. I think Brian is sexy as hell & love his sarcasm, he is a tough nut to crack where his friends & others are concerned, but in the end he always comes through for them, showing he is not callous & unfeeling, but human, which endears us to him even more. I also like Ben alot & Michael & Lynds & Mel. They're great too! April 5th cannot get here fast enough. I'm very anxious for my copy! The only other thing that would make this show even better, is if it also examined a storyline centering on the Transgendered community. Trash TV, such as Jerry Springer has made a mockery of who we are & so society's perception of us is, as Freaks. This show I have no doubt would portray us in a realistic fashion & show us as real people & demonstrate how we, along with those in the gay community aspire for equality & the same respect of those in mainstream society. Nice to see the power of the internet uniting some dear & lasting friends & this series to take the bull by the horns & soar to amazing heights with it's timely & controversial stories. May QAF continue to thrive & endure for a long time to come!
