Best show on TV comes to DVD

Everyone knows Seinfeld is one of the top TV shows to grace the small screen. Let me tell you what I like and dislike about the DVDs:

1. Notes about Nothing: Every show has the option of turning on "Notes about Nothing". Kind of like "Pop-up Video" on MTV (do they still have that?), random information will pop up as the show progresses. For example, there is a Kramer entrance counter that numbers each Kramer entrance. There is a Seinfeld girlfriend counter. There are stats about the audience rating and share for each episode. There are notes about other actors that appear and what else they have been in. It even tells you what the original script said and what lines were taken out (some are very funny). It is almost a constant stream of information - adds a lot more to Seinfeld.

2. The commentaries - I was a bit disappointed by the lack of commentaries - there are only about 7 or 8 total, and Larry David and Seinfeld only do 2 or 3. Kramer, George and Elaine do a couple, and there are also ones with the director and the writer. I would have enjoyed more with David and Seinfeld, but I'm sure that would be a lot of work for them and it would get kind of repetitive too. As it is, they spend a good part of the episode laughing at themselves and how novice they were back in the early 90s. And how goofy some of their fashion was. So commentaries are not the main feature.

3. Deleted scenes - there are some great deleted scenes on these disks.

4. Extra stand-up material - very funny

5. Cast interviews - some of the episodes have cast interviews. These are okay, but are sometimes pretty boring.

6. When it says 2 versions of the pilot episode - they aren't that different. I think one has a slightly different ending.

There are also lots of little things that are kind of fun. Definitely worth buying if you are a Seinfeld fan.
