Sex and the City - Season Six, Part 2 (2004)

Australians, Part 2 is a dud - don't waste your money

I purchased this item finally after wanting it for a long time. I don't know why, but I was lead to believe that it contained the secret endings that Australia never got to see. Okay, yes it does, but not at all how I thought.

All it has is one scene repeated several times, with a slight variation for each - ie "I can't believe you married the Russian!". There is no explanation, no follow up to the scene, it's just the one scene done again and again. Each of the possible scenarios offers too many unanswered questions, ie - if Carrie had married whatshisname, at what point did that story continue and where are the lost scenes to explain that? Because last we saw of them, she was running away and John was going to punch his lights out for hitting her. What happened in between if that had been the true ending? And what sort of woman would Carrie be if she let this man get away with slapping her?

None of the deleted scenes held any real promise.

I also actually believed that there were alternate episodes, not just alternate 2 minute scenes that add very little to the storyline. I bought this item believing that the extra reason for buying this disc was because it held complete episodes that tied off the possible scenarios as discussed above. It didn't. I already own the whole series 6 collection, but bought this DVD from overseas as a special treat. I was very sorely disappointed, because it really had very little to offer except a couple of documentaries that were shown on TV ages ago to farewell the show.

An absolute fan may consider this an important item in the collection, but if you already have season 6, don't waste the money on this because the extras aren't really worth it.
