The commentaries are excellent! I wont waste time giving a run down of the episodes in this set, you can read other reviews for that, instead I want to focus on some details of this excellent DVD release.
First, the packaging, like all the South Park Season sets, is top notch.... more
Terrific, Witty, and Funny. South Park has been on (I think) since 1997 and it shows no signs of stopping and for good reason. South Park has brought a new kind of comedy to our culture and is brilliant portraying political figures at the exact right moment. One of the episodes... more
this show, was and will always be offensive. i can't believe all the reviews saying they were either offended by this, or think it is too dark.
LOL
where have you been since this show started? south park has always been dark, it has always been very satirical AND very... more
solid season, some issues with commercials The fifth season of South Park is one of the best ones. The humor is still fresh, and the stories are still innovative. We know enough about all the characters so that personality and history play in nicely with the story lines. And there's more Butters.... more
This is when it started getting good For me, the fifth season of South Park was the season where the show really started getting good. Some of my all-time favorite episodes are here including: Cripple Fight and Cartman Land. It seemed that this was the season where Matt & Trey really started... more
A Darker Park With Season 5 you can tell "South Park" is taking a new direction. Prior to this season you might get an occasional topical show like "Cartman's Hate Crime" where Trey Parker and Matt Stone would tackle a hot issue of the day, but for the most part up... more
Funny With A lesson. I think South Park is one of the funniest and important shows on TV today. They break new ground every year and destroy all the taboos while doing it. No subject is left untouched. I have 2 children and we all enjoy it. I always tell people if you watch... more
I really want to like this, but... In the past, South Park was delightfully offensive. The jokes were fresh, the scenarios were slightly shocking, but most of all it all was delivered without feeling so deliberate.
Season five? Well ... it's different. The jokes appear to come from... more
Behind the Blow Finally after the entire wait, the fifth season of South Park is finally out. All the classics. Especially one of my favorites "Scott Tenerman Must Die". Although there are many classics in this collection there is not much of any features. Like the 3rd... more
South Park moves beyond it's initial cliches Season 5 was the season where Matt & Trey finally realized that killing Kenny was getting monotonous, predictable, and boring, and started to mix up the formula. It's also where they started to think bigger and move out of just having stories about a... more
Any Episode Past The 4th Season Is Lame South Park was a great show...back in 1998! I still watch classic episodes like "Chef Aid", "Prehistoric Ice Man" and "Big Gay Al's Big Gay Boatride" over and over. I even have the first season on DVD. The second season is also a must-have. The third... more
great, but why are some language still "bleeped" on these? Listen, ANYONE that buys SOUTH PARK on disc is buying it to own these gems COMPLETELY UNCENSORED, the way they are made. Yes, there are certain words that are not "bleeped" (as they are when broadcast on TV) but there are also "dirtier words" that are... more
The best yet... Seasopn 5 was a real winner in the laughs department. Not a bad epsiode among them.
My faves include Scott Tenorman Must Die and the Butters episode! The absolute best though had to be the safe sex one! I'll never look at Mr. mackey & Ms.... more
5 stars for episodes only Positively, let me state that seaons 5 ranks as one the best and most consistent of all the sesons of South Park. It contains some of my personal favorites such as Scott Tenorman Must Die, Proper Condom Use, How to Eat With Your Butt, Cripple Fight,... more
The HiGHliGHTS! Disc One
Episode 502 IT HITS THE FAN
South Park takes its place among that elite group who have made television history when Cartman proclaims the "S" word for the entire world to hear. The you-know-what hits the fan 162 times when the citizens... more
Not the best season but pretty good. . . I have been buying the South Park DVD library season by season and I am a big fan. After purchasing season 5 in advance from Amazon, I have to say that season five is my least favorite of the first five seasons I've purchased. There is something about... more
Hilarious, yet again This is hilarious. South Park just keeps getting better and better...until Season 7, where it peaks. Then in the second eight episodes of Season 8 it dies a fiery, wretched, nosedive death. But Season 5 is incredibly hilarious, every episode is hilarious... more
content is great, but price/packaging isn't The good news is that there are some funny episodes in this season of South Park. Since some other reviewers have already done a great job at describing what's here, I won't rehash that information.
The reason for my giving this package... more
Gets better and better Matt Stone and Trey Parker's money making brain child proved in it's fifth season that no matter what, it's scathing humor would never let up. Like the above Amazon review states, nearly two months after the tragedy of September 11th, a South Park episode... more
I went to college with these guys, didn't I?....... Well, no, I didn't, but the humor of my undergraduate guy friends lives on with the boys of South Park!!
Offensive? Yup. Crossing the line? As much as possible. Hysterical? Usually!!
Of course, if you hate Python, Kids in... more
