This Movie Is Sometimes Funny But Mostly Terrifying
This documentary on eating fast food, going to McDonalds and being obese is terrifying to watch especially for the unlucky viewer that is, in fact, overweight. This movie is very well produced and is honest about the terrible harm that is done by eating high-fat, high-sodium and high-sugar diets. The movie does not overstate the problem. The problem is real and affects at least 1/3 of all citizens in the USA. That, of course, is a huge number of people.
If you are unlucky enough to be overweight or fat you must watch this movie. It is not a pleasant experience. However, if you pay attention to the message in the movie it might save your life.
McDonald's position that they are not in any way responsible for this problem, because it is a matter of personal responsibility, is a bunch of hogwash. They have spent over one billion dollars advertising this dangerous food, their clown, their name and have put this food in hospitals and schools. They are a big part of the problem and they are telling wicked lies to say that they are not part of the problem. Personal responsibility is important. However, massive advertising budgets can corrupt personal responsibility. The awesome power of advertising is well-known. They pick on our most vulnerable when they target our children.
