Interesting but long

Morgan Spurlock embarked on a fascinating project: to personally test the effects of a steady diet of fast food. For a month, he had a steady diet for all three daily meals, of MacDonalds fast foods. He started out fit and healthy but as time wore on, his medical exams (he was under medical supervision) showed alarming changes in his health. Indeed, in a short time, he began to suffer serious problems with his liver. His physicians were surprised and alarmed. He also put on weight and although he did not become morbidly obese in this short period of time, he did become decidedly paunchy and flabby.

There are questions that I have which are unexplored. Is it the carbs in the roles and sauces and the sugar in the soda and milkshakes that did the damage? Or, perhaps, is it the fatty content of the food? Perhaps it is a combination of the two. Being on a low carb diet, my personal suspicion is that the rolls, fries, sugar, etc. are the main culprits. Then again, I may be wrong. It is a good area for further investigation, however.

The film was interesting but, he also did a fair amount of investigative reporting about fast food companies' marketing techniques, including marketing to children. The topic of this DVD deserved an hour's presentation on a television special. A full legnth film dragged on too long thus this otherwise 5 star effort gets a still respectable 4.
