Surpassed my expectations
Pixar movies always seemed kind of annoying to me. While it is obvious that their movies are very well crafted, they are a little too polished, a little too "lowest common denominator". But when i watched the Incredibles i was blown away, well written, amazing action and clever subtext. The only complain is that the incredibles powers are so unoriginal, three of them have the Fantastic Fours powers and the little boy is basically The Flash. And there we have the "lowest common denominator" every little boy dreams of being the fastest or the strongest so by making the men fast and strong it's just catering to the main audience of little boys, because no matter how well made it is, the movie will still be considered a cartoon and cartoons are for children. WRONG. There is a negative stigma regarding animated movies and while i applaud The Incredibles for taking some creative risks it seems the producers cop out in other areas, Oh well no one is perfect. The DVD contains tons of great extras, including JACK JACK ATTACK a hillarious short about what happened to the babysitter while the family was away. The movie in itself is a fantastic piece of work that will hopefully be a turning point for a bolder more creatively ambitious PIXAR. EP
