If you love women... ...you will LOVE the L-Word.
This show gives you such an intimate glimpse into the inner and most intimate lives of a wide variety of women, I sometimes feel guilty when I am watching it. It is entertaining, fun, and so different than everything... more
The L-word is not just for women! Queer as Folk is a great show w/ an allstar cast! However, as a gay man who faces some of the same issues the QAF characters face, I prefer to not be reminded of what is to come or what I have overcome. Not to say I do not and have not enjoyed gay TV... more
Great Show, Fantastic Title This show and its collection of the first season's episodes should be watched by all. It will open you mind to the realities that face lesbians; the invisible gay sect. The L Word is such an appropriate title because so many people are uncomfortable... more
What Has . . . . . . 18 legs and laments incessantly . . . 'The L Word'. These self inflicted dejected, disappointed, grieving, heart-sick, melancholy, miserable, bellyachers are the poster children for those groups of trendy home owning-high end European car driving-never... more
i LOVE this show!!!! i had first heard of the L word through a friend, but i never saw it while it aired on showtime early in 2004. i later rented the first disc in season one, and i just fell in love with it. i knew i just had to buy the whole season one dvd so that i could... more
The L word is aTrue view into a Lesbains Life and Heart I have seen A lot of Lesbain movies and shows, but I have had my breathe taken away with this series. There are times when I cried because I could so relate to what was going on in the story. This is a real break thru for the lesbain community. Before... more
Lovin' the L Word! At first I heard about this show and was quite skeptical, But it really grows on you, I love it!!! I love all of the characters!

And... Yes, it is great and I want more. I can't wait for the box with the second season of The L Word. Just getting a glimpse of the preview of the season on the extras drives me crazy. The L Word really caught me by surprise. The romantic and drama twists... more
I'll make this nice and short Thumbs up to the directors of this series. You really put yourselves out there by giving this a shot. Every episode was brilliant and I can't wait for the next series. keep up the good work!

CAble networks give you cliches..... AOL Cable network hands up this so-called show on Lesbian couples, which all looks like it was recycled out of a trash collector. It's full of bad sript writing, bad acting, and more story clitches then you can count. Same with Lesbian or Straight... more
Loving these Lovely Ladies Perhaps the L Word originally intended to cast a net to catch a small niche audience; women wanting to see their lives represented on television. The end result of the L Word, however, casts a large net by telling compelling, interesting stories of compelling,... more
Television at it's best! My Dad bought me the hole first season on dvd. And I am SO hooked! The Storylines are great. We have Jenny (Mia Kirshner) who has a boyfriend - Tim (Eric Mabius), but falls in love with ja woman named Marina (Karina Lombard).
Then Bette (Jennifer... more
The L Word Is... Lame! Very, very lame. Now, I know most will be disgruntled with this review; I can't help but to find the show tedious and boring. Is this supposed to be controversial television? Pretty much change the lesbian tension to heterosexual tension and you... more
Good show... "The L Word-First Season" may not be the most realistic look into the lives of the average lesbians, but it does its job of keeping the viewer entertained.
I do worry women will compare themselves to the uber-attractive actresess on the... more
Finally a series about women! and only women! What a show! It's no sitcome like Will & Grace or maybe Queer as Folk. The L Word is pure drama. Of course with funny moments and lines, but the main theme: drama!
And it's outstanding.
The best episodes - for me - are "Looking Back" (they... more
Better than expected! Wow, it's refreshing to see lesbians that don't look or act like men! Finally something that will open up straight people's eyes! In fact I have many straight woman friends who just love this show, and they even admitted that they could be close to another... more
Hm, It's Okay This series, the L word, is interesting. The positive commentry I have over it is the fact that for once there is a show about the personal and intimate lives of lesbians, which is something you don't see on television or DVD everyday. However, that seems... more
Interesting series, spy on the lesbian in crowd If you didn't have a chance to catch this series when it aired on Showtime, now is your chance to catch the first season of the L Word on DVD. This series explores the everyday lives of a powerful group of Los Angeles based lesbians. They all seem polished,... more
The Other L Word .
Sure, the L Word plays in the field of lesbian sex, love, and friendship, but don't be fooled--every story line seems to be focused on another L word altogether:
Lying.
Take a look at Jenny. Yes, she's sexually confused,... more
Lovely & Lucious L word! The L Word is FINALLY out on DVD and I couldn't be more excited! I got this as a christmas present and I just love it! All the episodes are in WIDESCREEN and the dvd quality is pretty good. I love the writing of the episodes and as the season progressed... more
