Besides a very well known career , Drexler has won reputation in the south american market and also in Spain where he leaves even he is uruguayan
His song was nominated and the Oscar show organization decided he was not to " heavy " to sing in the party, Antonio Banderas and Carlos Santana identified as " latinos" did the job
That gave a bad taste in all south americans due to that is also showed as we latins can be exchange as parts of a puzzle and we do have many cultural differences, history and art, that is not interchangeable as the Oscar party organizers thought
Gael Garcia Bernal, actor of the film didnt accept to present the song, due to that unconfortable situation, but , justice arrived, Prince named Jorge Drexler as the winner!!, amazing, art win, and unique culture too, guess what? Drexler didnt thank nobody , neither dedicate the Oscar to noone, he step in the stage and song what he was not invited to do, alone , no instruments just his spanish lenguage and his pride
