Why can't Hollywood make movies like this anymore? The special effects (1984 style), the storyline, how a little boy loves reading, the magical beings (even the monsters were magical), the scenery, everything about "The Never Ending Story" swept you off your feet and kept you spellbound. You had to watch it to the end to know what happened and became a bit annoyed when the story was interrupted during the course of the film. I love computer flicks like "Monsters, Inc." (an original concept in this day and age) but now every childrens flick is computer animated and has the same basic storyline. What a classic!
