Loved the movie, liked the book....

I think that was because I saw the movie first. The movie reflects more on the youthful relationship while the book goes more into detail of their reuniting and their elderly years in the nursing home.

Also, what really bothered me was the point in the movie when the old Noah is looking back at photos of his wedding and they showed pics of James Garner as a young man....with jet black hair and Gena Rowlands....with platinum blond hair!! Well, the young Noah was light haired and the young Allie was strawberry blond....so were we supposed to think that the young Noah and Allie that we were watching the whole time were just figments of an elderly woman's imagination????????? The two who portrayed Allie and Noah in their youth looked NOTHING LIKE the wedding photographs in the album.

But, overall, I loved the movie, saw it twice and bought the DVD.
