The Pirate Movie - DVD
This is a perfect example of the power of new technology. This DVD makes the movie look and sound better than it has on VHS (Duh!) They have also fixed one of the production errors that was on the VHS version! (You can see the trampoline Kristy's character used to jump up on her horse in the VHS).
The only place this DVD loses a star is in the Directors commentary. I expected them to describe things about each scene like a behind-the-scenes trivia track but all it turned out to be was the director and someone else talking about their past movies and life backgrounds, Very little about the actual movie itself! Some extra extras would have been nice also.
Those few flaws aside; I believe it was worth the wait and the signing of the online petition, i didn't expect it to actually work.
Thank you FOX studios and ANCHOR BAY for having the courage to take a gamble of this film after so many years; i'm sure it must have been a daunting task! You have preserved this film for the fans and the thousands more yet to discover it.
